Abstract (English):
Abstract (English): Introduction. The rapid development of information technologies and their implementation in various spheres of society indicate that in the near future artificial intelligence technologies will be actively developed and integrated into various areas of the functioning of government bodies, including the activities of forensic units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. However, the sporadic nature of research in the area of the topic under consideration allows us to state that scientific, legal, organizational and methodological regulation of the use of artificial intelligence technologies in forensic activities is at the initial stage of development and provides for the need for further study and development. Methods. The methodological basis of the study was the general philosophical principles of dialectics and a systematic approach. Methods of cognition of the surrounding reality in their interrelation and interdependence, as well as statistical, deductive methods, systems analysis methods, generalization and forecasting methods were used. Results. The introduction of artificial intelligence technologies into the activities of forensic units of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs should be preceded by legislative regulation of the use of artificial intelligence technologies in forensic activities; development and testing of appropriate artificial intelligence algorithms in methods of various types of examinations; training “artificial intelligence specialists” and including them in the staff of forensic institutions; studying international experience in the use of artificial intelligence in forensic activities and assessing the possibilities of using the most effective achievements; development and implementation of a standard containing the principles of using artificial intelligence in forensic activities and operating terms related to it.
