Annotation. Introduction. In the context of systemic reforms being carried out in government and administrative bodies, the task of ensuring a practical focus of the training of future police officers, set before them at the governmental level, is becoming a priority for educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. An analysis of the specifics of education in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia leads to the conclusion about its practice-oriented nature, based on a competency-based approach directly aimed at learning outcomes. Methods. During the study conducted by the authors of the article, the methods of observation, description, generalization, situational analysis, and interpretation were used. Results. It is concluded that the use of the student's vital experience in studying Russian as the language of the future profession at the departmental university of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia contributes to the development of professional communicative competence, whereas traditional teaching methods develop only linguistic competence within the limits of general literacy. Vitagenic education within the framework of andragogy (adult education) is based on the use of the student's personally experienced experience in the educational process. A vitagenic approach to teaching language-related subjects overcomes the problem of low learning effectiveness for first-year students who lack professional experience at this stage of their education. From a methodological perspective, it seems appropriate to transform students' vitagenic experience into practical, situational problems that require communicative skills. Theoretical reflection on one's own experience allows not only for the acquisition of knowledge in the field of professional communication but also for a deeper exploration of communication practices and the reinforcement of these skills.
