Abstract:
Annotation. Introduction. The effectiveness of professional training for law enforcement officers at educational institutions of the Ministry of the Interior of Russia depends not only on the volume of theoretical knowledge acquired by cadets but also on the quality of the practical skills they acquire. Learning outcomes directly impact their readiness to make independent decisions and perform official tasks. However, an analysis of data obtained during cadet knowledge assessment revealed a discrepancy between their theoretical and practical training. This circumstance negatively impacts, in particular, the development of professional predictive thinking in future operational officers. The author's study revealed a deficiency in cadet training in the predictive skills necessary for successful professional work in operational units. To a certain extent, this is due to the lack of methodological development of methods for applying these skills, which necessitates new approaches to the study of operational investigative disciplines. The purpose of the study was determined by the need to improve the methods and technologies used in the educational process to optimize it and bring it closer to the real-life conditions of service of law enforcement officers. Methods. The methodological basis of the study was the dialectical method of understanding the surrounding reality. In addition, classification, generalization, systems analysis, and other methods were used. Results. The study tested and evaluated a methodology for conducting combined classes in operational investigative disciplines. It was concluded that its implementation will contribute to the improvement of the educational process and increase its effectiveness. This will improve the level of training of future operational unit officers, including in terms of developing their professionally significant qualities related to the implementation of the forecasting function.
